The design explores is achieved in the public realm, how the visions and masterplans can be achieved on the ground without losing the integrity of their aspiration.
A landscape designed to be maintained without the depletion of natural resources, connecting residents to the landscape, and to meet the needs of future generations. With easily accessible outdoor space available from their front door, this will be prove vitally beneficial towards the wellbeing and mental health of residents.
The concept relies on bringing biodiversity into the surroundings and creating equilibrium, by focusing on the shared habitat of humans and nature, and the preservation of species.
A LANDSCAPE FOR ALL AGES
The design aims to include eco friendly housing, reducing harm to the planet and constructed for future longevity and sustainability.
The concept relies on bringing biodiversity into the surroundings and creating equilibrium, by focusing on the shared habitat of humans and nature, and the preservation of species. Areas within the site which residents pass through, are filled with planting beds constructed from sandstone bricks and a varied mix of planting choices.
CONNECTION TO THE OUTDOOR ENVIRONMENT
A combination of outdoor areas will be introduced, including a wildlife reserve open to the public, which will include a small lake and multiple walking routes, with the key aim being to preserve wildlife and create safe habitats for species.
There will be a range of outdoor spaces for residents, including an open parkland area, surrounded by two story houses. The park will primarily be managed grassland/woodland, with a small pond in the north of the park, whilst also preserving the stream running through the centre.
